Prayer is one of the ways that people of faith support one another and show care and concern for the world around us. Jesus comes to us to ensure that we are always aware of how close God comes to us in love. A life of prayer means always being aware that we live in the presence of a God who comes among us and loves us. That is the first value of prayer – it keeps us mindful of God.
But prayer is also care – a way of bringing the love and concern we have for others before God. Lutheran Christians believe that all of us can pray for each and every one of us. There is no greater love someone can offer than to set aside time before God to pray with and for someone who needs love, care or healing.
Zion has a prayer chain with over 100 people who receive prayer requests and take time to pray for the concerns that people lift up and request prayers for.
